My uncle was lost on board,at just 19 years he was the youngest on board,he is David Benjamin Beddoes from Colchester, formerly the family were from London and evacuated to Colchester during the war. I was 11 months old when Affray was lost. David left Cardiff that Easter - he was staying with us before leaving for Portsmouth. I was said to be the last baby he held and kissed before leaving -what a great honour for me! Christopher Jarvis |
